9月29日 BIG Culteral Differences That Could Cost You Your LifeIt was brought to my attention, quite emphatically the other day, one of the big cultural differences between the Chinese culture and the Western culture, and it's quite a dangerous one: telling others they are wrong.
Yes! It seems many Chinese are quite forward in their comments when speaking to each other, with comments like, you're fat, or you're old now, or you're wrong. All of these comments are not taken lightly in the American culture, thus a fight in a local bar just this last weekend. A young Chinese male turned to a rather large, muscle-bound American and said, "You're fat."
To that, the American guy took great offense and offered to fight him to see who was more in shape. The Chinese guy took him up on the offer and started hitting the American just to find his hand in pain as he repeatedly struck the American's muscles. They were like hitting rocks!
The American could have hit the Chinese in return, but he realized he might accidently kill him, so he just smiled at him.
With that, the Chinese guy smiled back and everything was cool.
A student repeadedly told me I was wrong recently, to my great anger as well. Little did she know Americans become very irate when they are told this, especially when they aren't wrong. In East Los Angeles or some parts of New York City or Houston, you could die from a bullet or knife if you say that.
My response was immense anger, but I tried to demonstrate, by acting very angry in a fake response, what it might be like with some people who would simply respond in violence. I started yelling in fake anger in her face to get the point across. I don't thing the student ever understood. She thought I was just crazy.
Sometimes, lessons are best left to real life.
The moral of the story? Watch what you say. It could have grave consequences (pun intended).

How about you? Can you see the future? If not, there may be a reason why you can't, like maybe there is no future for you. Grab hold of the present today and make the best of it by making yourself happy.

Is it easy? No. It's the hardest thing you will every do to fight for your life and freedom. There are always others that get hurt in the process. Nothing is won without losers falling all around you, and sometimes it's your own friends, but it's their own fault for not fighting to win.
"The world is not a nice place." (Riddick...Vin Diesel, in Pitch Black, the first of the Riddick Chronicles) What does it mean? You have to be a fighter to win in life. There is no peaceful existence without a fight. Freedom is earned by fighting for it. Without the fight, you don't deserve to be free.
Stand up for yourself and fight. If you don't, someone will take your life and control it. The UrgeI've got the urge to get on big Harley and hit the road for more adventure and glory. There's the case of this one girl who doesn't really love the guy she's with but won't leave, because she thinks he will kill himself. Haha! Are you kidding me? He probably loves himself too much for that when it comes right down to the killing. "It don't come easy," Ringo Star (The Beatles, 1971) killing anyone, especially yourself. Try it sometime.
Who is controlling whom in this case? He's killing her and she's stupid enough to fall for it. Haha the typical gullibility of a female. That's how guys get girls in the first place: female gullibility!
The guy is controlling her psychologically in a lot of ways. First, he's telling her he loves her so much he will die without her. Then, because he senses she has doubts about the relationship, tries to make her feel bad all the time verbally. She says she feels guilty and stays with him.
Who is the stupid one here? The girl.
Situations like this really make me mad at the girl. She cannot blame herself if the guy kills himself; that's his own damn fault. He won't, and he's using psychological warfare to control her.
In this case, he's the bastard, and she's stupid for falling for it and losing her life.
Bottom line, baby! Get off your ass and make the jump for your happiness and peace of mind.
Or....just stay stupid and lose part of your life right now! He's already killing YOU! I have no sympathy for you girl.
Here we go again. Another case of control, control, and more control.
I say, stand up and take control of yourself or someone else will.
9月19日 Freedom?? What's It All About?So, what happens when you break up? Are you free or just alone?
At first, you feel like the freedom is a pain. Then, you start feeling a little more like getting out and doing things, but your focus is all screwed up.
Here's an interesting observation about the opposite sex, though: girls treat you different once they realize you're free.
